Ewe-Phoric Kids and Give a Stitch Community Project on April 17th!~From Anne Ellis
Arnold, CA...The Arnold Elementary level Ewe-Phoric Kids are 25 strong!! They are doing a community project on Tuesday April 17th. They will be taking 7“ squares donated by GIVE A STITCH & crocheting or stitching them together to make lap rugs. They need at least 2 squares per child so they can all participate. They have several squares done from donated Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. They also have LOTS of donated yarn waiting to be crocheted or knitted….
If you can each pledge to do 2-4 squares, it would be great for the kids & the people who will end up with the lap rugs. The colors they have in Cotton Fleece are purples, beiges, sage & olive greens & some red mixed with beige. If you have other yarn in those colors...great. Otherwise, make whatever you have or get some form the SHOP. I am knitting lime green & violent orange (Irish colors !) and the kids love them !
AND, a Crazy quilt will be just as much fun for the kids to make ! Just use # 11 needles & make your squares 7”. If you are using DK weight, double works best. If worsted, double or single. If bulky, single…. But they DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT !!!
If you can come Thursday night to our regular meeting, please plan to knit or crochet some squares. I can do one in @ 30 minutes, so I am sure there are those who can match or beat me !.
If you can’t make Thursday, please just drop your finished squares off at the SHOP by next TUESDAY NOON !!! And EVERYONE is welcome to come Tuesday to the Kids’ community service day- Call the SHOP or email me for info.
THANKS AGAIN FOR TAKING A LITTLE TIME TO HELP OTHERS !!!
