Keeping Your Mac Up To Date is the SMUG August Meeting Topic
Arnold, CA... Keeping your Mac, and other Apple products, up to date will be the major topic when the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) gathers for its Tuesday, August 13 meeting that will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., just off Highway 4...
Brian Thomas, Technology Specialist and Trainer for the Calaveras County Office of Education, will be making the presentation and leading the discussion. He will take the mystery out of “permissions” and tell why they should regularly be repaired. The available applications designed to clean files and improve performance will also be explored.
Thomas will also delve into the family of Apple products and talk about the similarities, and differences, of iMacs, iPads, iPods, and iPhones.
Questions on these, and any other computer-related topics, are always encouraged at SMUG meetings.
SMUG meets the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to everyone and there is no charge to attend. The organization exists to keep Mac users abreast of the latest developments and to address the nagging questions that arise from time to time. Its goal is to take the mystery out of computers and to enable members to take advantage of all the features their Macs possess.
SMUG was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Annual dues are $15. For more information visit the SMUG website at www.SierraMacintoshUsersGroup.org or call 795-3798 or 728-9012.
