Aero Fire Day Two, 20% Contained, 5,425 Acres, 3 Structures Destroyed, 1 Damaged

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/18/2024 07:22 AM
Copperopolis, CA...As we start day two of the Aero Fire the next few hours will tell the tale of how much life is left in the fire as the morning inversion lifts and the sun heat and wind pick up.  If the firefighters can keep it knocked down and prevent any large rapid runs then they can start wrapping this one up.  If not then it is off to the races again.   From Cal Fire TCU..."#Aerofire [update] Firefighters had a small decrease in winds and an increase in relative humidity overnight that assisted crews with construction of fireline. The Aero Fire is burning in an area that has not experienced a large fire since 2003 and is burning in grass and oak woodlands. The Calaveras County Sheriffs Office has issued several evacuation orders and warnings that can be viewed at https://protect.genasys.com/search."
