Calaveras Community Foundation Awards Community Grants for 2024

Angels Camp, CA...Non-profit groups, schools, and government agencies in Calaveras County are encouraged to apply for a grant through the 2024 Competitive Grant program offered by the Calaveras Community Foundation. The Foundation is looking to help support special projects that could make a difference in people’s lives or make changes benefitting the county or groups.
Copperopolis, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced that State Route 4 (SR-4) in Calaveras County has now re-opened to traffic after a full highway closure due to the Aero Fire near the town of Copperopolis.

Copperopolis, CA...Evacuation Warnings: All Evacuation Warnings have been lifted for Calaveras County. Evacuation Orders: CCU – 147-C, CCU – 152-B, CCU – 153-B, CCU -168-B. Road Closures: Pyle Rd at O’ Byrnes Ferry Rd, Rock Creek at Highway 4, Britchen Dr at the fire perimeter line, Rock Creek at the fire perimeter line.

Copperopolis, CA...CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit transitioned the fire to CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 3 at 10:30am. Moderate fire behavior was observed by firefighters today with pockets of heat in heavy fuels and embers from trees torching continue to have the potential to impact the fireline.
