The premise for the show is that the USDA ranked all 3,142 counties or county equivalents in the USA on a livability or desirability scale based on factors such as climate, scenic beauty, bodies of water for recreation, humidity and much more. All of our area ranked not only in the top one percent but in the top one half of one percent. San Andreas, CA...California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit (TCU) will be conducting crew readiness drills for the 2024 fire season on May 8th and 9th, 2024. This year crews from Tuolumne Rancheria Fire Department, California Conservation Corps - Delta Center, Baseline Fire Center, and Vallecito Fire Center will participate.

Calaveras County High Schools Host “CASEY’S PLEDGE” Activity |

Angels Camp, CA...The Friday Night Live Chapters at Bret Harte and Calaveras High School invited students to take “Casey’s Pledge,” a promise to be sober or not drink and drive before their prom on April 27th. “Casey’s Pledge” is a statewide prevention program that encourages youth to take an active role in reducing the negative effects of underage alcohol use and drinking and driving.
