The Greater Arnold Pancake Breakfasts Return Saturday & Sunday!

Arnold, CA...Memorial Day Weekend marked the return of one of the summer traditions in the Arnold area. The Greater Arnold Pancake Breakfasts are back & GABA will be serving Breakfast Again Saturday & Sunday in the cozy confines of the Ebbetts Pass Gas parking lot! The longstanding tradition of the Lions Club has been brought back by the Greater Arnold Business Association to help fund the Arnold Independence Day Parade and other events and business activities along the Ebbetts Pass Corridor. Current Supervisor Martin Huberty & Former Longstanding Supervisor Merita Callaway even worked the serving line to help get the tradition rolling again. Big Boy's BBQ & Catering prepared the food & many others volunteered their time to help out. Even shy and demure Paul Bertini helped with promotional efforts to keep the crowds rolling in.

Murphys, CA...Hands on Global (HOG) a medical non-profit has gone to Ukraine several times since March 2022. As a HOG volunteer, along with my sister Tama, who served as a nurse in Vietnam, I went to Ukraine on a couple of trips to deliver donated external fixators that reduce amputations and other equipment for orthopedic trauma surgeons. As part of our future trips, we are raising funds for Combat Application Tourniquets (CATs). Tama said these CATs save life and limbs, which would have helped in Vietnam.

Sacramento, CA...CAL FIRE is reminding everyone that it is illegal to sell, transport, or use fireworks that do not carry the “Safe and Sane” seal, as well as possess or use fireworks in a community where they are not permitted. If convicted, a violator could be fined up to $50,000, as well as be sent to jail for up to one year.

Child Found in the Road Leads to Felony Arrest

Copperopolis, CA...On June 30, 2024, at about 8:35 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection near Little John Road and Copper Cove Drive, Copperopolis, regarding a citizen reporting a toddler walking in the roadway. When deputies arrived, they contacted witnesses who stated they observed a female, later identified as Ashley Marie Agasi, 33 of age, Copperopolis, carrying a child as she walked on Quiver St. near Littlejohn Road. They observed that the female was acting erratically, yelling at neighbors' dogs, throwing rocks at animals, and attempting to wave down vehicles.
