San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department and the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services is prepared to respond to requests for assistance relating to the ongoing stormy weather. However, as of January 25th, 2008, only a minimal amount of storm related calls for service has been received. Stolen Property Recovered and "Mystery Man" Booked! By John Hamilton

San Andreas, CA...Some Vallecito Residents will be getting their property back soon thanks to the Calaveras County Sheriffs Department. The suspect is in jail now for possession of stolen property with more charges to follow. Deputy Robert Huffman apprehended the suspect at approximately 7:30am this morning. The robbery occurred yesterday afternoon. The residents were away for a couple of hours and returned home to evidence of a burglary....

House Fire Reported on January 22nd

CAL Fire has reported a structure fire on January 22nd at 3379 Emereff Lane in Rancho Calaveras. Two bedrooms were damaged, the rest of the house had smoke damage. Dollar value damage estimated at $75,000 for the structure and $15,000 for the contents. Cause is under investigation. A few pets died in the fire, no human injuries. Traffic Alert...Single Roll-Over on Hwy 26 (Update 2)

San Andreas, CA...CHP is reporting a single vehicle overturned in a ditch at 6129 Hwy 26. The initial report was no injuries it has now been updated that there are injuries and and Air Ambulance has been called in. The roadway is now being reported as clear but the vehicle is on it's roof. Use Caution in the area...

TRAFFIC NEWS....CHP reporting VUSD School Bus Collision at Murphys Grade and French Gulch Road...ROADWAY CLOSED

CHP is reporting a Vallecito Union School School Bus vs. pickup truck collision at Murphys Grade Road and French Gulch Road. Roadway is completely blocked so try to avoid the area if possible. It looks like only one child hit head but is ok. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck are requiring an ambulance. We will keep you posted as we know more.
