Angels Camp, C.A....Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed budget for 2008-09, which could cut $4 billion from education, may take away more than $200,000 from Mark Twain Union Elementary School District, according to the district's business manager Noreen Kenny.

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Business Association will host their Annual Installation Dinner and Volunteer Appreciation Night on Wednesday January 23, 2008 at CAMPS Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. Social Hour will begin at 5:30pm, Dinner to follow at 6pm, with the Presentation at 6:45pm. The Panel Discussion will be "Building Business in Good Times and Bad." Mokelumne Hill, CA...We were passed along some news that cuts are ahead for local Ambulance service from American Legion due to hard economic times. The Mokelumne Hill Unit will be phased out completely and the hours of an additional Unit will be curtailed. The call volumes have been lower than expected so they feel cuts are necessary...

On the planning front...The Townhouses at Angel Oaks moved forward. The project received a mitigated negative declaration, zoning changes and a tentative tract map and development plan. It looks like that project has a green light....
