Got Art? ~By Hanna Heath

Angels Camp, CA…. Bret Harte High School Senior Holli Bledsoe shows her art to the community this week at the (CCOE) Calaveras County Office of Education. The show began this morning at 8am. The showing hours are from 8-5 today, and 8-7 tomorrow. Beautiful work is on display and for sale by donation……

“One of my paintings is already up to a $100 bid, this is so exciting, sharedd Holli.”
The open reception will be held both days, a great opportunity to meet the artist and ask questions. Refreshments and drinks will be served during viewing hours.

The show includes twenty five paintings by Holli, with a focus in oils paints. Her colorful artwork includes fish, people, and landscapes. “I enjoy oil paints; they allow me to change my work because they take such a long time to dry. I also like oil paints because they blend very well, shared Holli.” When asked, why did you choose to host an art show? Holli shared, “I have always been afraid to showcase my art, and our projects focus on stepping outside your comfort zone.”

After graduating from Bret Harte Holli will be attending the San Francisco Art Institute. All of the art will be on sale. There is no set price on Holli’s art; the highest bidder will take home that art piece. All the proceeds and benefits from this art show will go towards Holli’s college education. A private art college in San Francisco can range from $25,00-$100,000 per year.

So come out and help support a local students plan her way towards college.
