Music in the Parks: Nathan Ignacio June 20, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Brice Station Vineyards

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/20/2018 03:03 PM
Murphys, CA...Nathan Ignacio is a rising star in California, having opened for such legendaries as BB King and Willy Watson of The Old Crow Medicine Show. Ignacio brings a modern take on the American folk revival tradition with songs that explore his sometimes hard journey through life. It's not all just melancholy; Ignacio can rock pretty hard on stage all by himself. He plays an impressive number of instruments—guitar, dulcimer, mandolin, harmonica, percussion—sometimes at the same time to build a complex sound that brings new life to old favorites like "Just the Two of Us," and steers new songs like "Tom Thumb" into the world.

Remarks on the UN Human Rights Council From Mike Pompeo & Nikki Haley

Posted by: thepinetree on 06/19/2018 08:47 PM
Washington, DC...Good afternoon. The Trump administration is committed to protecting and promoting the God-given dignity and freedom of every human being. Every individual has rights that are inherent and inviolable. They are given by God, and not by government. Because of that, no government must take them away. For decades, the United States has led global efforts to promote human rights, often through multilateral institutions. While we have seen improvements in certain human rights situations, for far too long we have waited while that progress comes too slowly or in some cases never comes. Too many commitments have gone unfulfilled.

I would say that our economy — and many of you know that very well — is doing better than it ever has done. Our employment numbers are the best that they’ve been, perhaps ever, but certainly in recorded history. Reports just came out — best in 44 years. Black unemployment is the lowest level in history. Hispanic unemployment, lowest level in history. Women unemployment, lowest level in 21 years. It started at 19, went up to 20; now it’s up to 21. Very soon it’s going to be in history.

Another Instance of Very Active Bears Even at Low Elevations This Season

Sonora, CA...We have seen more instances of bear activity in Calaveras & Tuolumne Counties than in any other year in the last 13 years ThePineTree.net has been covering news. This one is from the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept. This inquisitive young cub was not even at the Twain Harte level but in the City of Sonora off of Racetrack. "A bear cub makes an appearance in the area of Racetrack Road at East Walnut Street in Sonora. Last week there were several sightings of a mama bear and her cub at a mobile home park and a residential neighborhood in the same vicinity. The two seemed to be searching for food as they curiously sifted through garbage and wandered through a backyard of a residence. A Sheriff’s Deputy searched the area looking for the mama bear but she was no where to be found."
