Chips for Kids Toy Drive 2018

San Andreas, CA...The California Highway Patrol and Santa’s Express, are once again, teaming up for the annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. The toys will be given to hospitalized and disadvantaged children in Calaveras County just before the Christmas holiday. You can help by bringing new, unwrapped, toys which will be donated to Santa’s Express. CHiPs for Kids collection barrels have been placed around the county at various locations. Toys will be collected until Thursday, December 13, 2018. Collection barrels are at the following locations: California Highway Patrol – San Andreas. Angels Camp Business Association – Angels Camp. Bistro Espresso – Arnold. CHP/Sheriff’s Sub-Station – Arnold. Young’s Payless Market IGA – Copperopolis. Treats General Store – San Andreas. Common Grounds – Valley Springs.

Board of Supervisors Remove Planned Development & Adopt Design Review in Mokelumne Hill

San Andreas, CA...BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUMMARY PUBLICATION: The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors adopted an ordinance to amend the zoning of parcels in Mokelumne Hill. The planned development combining zone was removed from 102 parcels and the design review combining zone was added to 117 parcels. A negative declaration was adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

Wilseyville, CA...Breaking News.....The 65th Annual Wilseyville Hare Scramble is now #Race4Paradise!! In light of the recent horrific events that are occurring as a result of the Camp Fire in Butte County, ALL proceeds from this year’s race will be donated directly to victims of the Camp Fire. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the people in Paradise and surrounding communities, and our hearts go out to all who are suffering as a result of this terrible fire. We thank you for your support in this endeavor. In addition to donating all of the proceeds we will have a raffle going on, with prizes and a donation box.

Out of Control Juvenile Triggers Temporary Lockdown at Calaveras High School

San Andreas, CA....From the Calaveras Sheriff's Dept..."On 11-13-18 at about 1251 hours CCSO Deputies were dispatched to Calaveras High School in San Andreas for a report of an out of control juvenile being aggressive on campus. It was reported that the juvenile possibly had a knife. The Sheriff's Office was informed that the school was placed on lock down as a precautionary measure. Deputies have been on campus and the juvenile has been contacted. No knives or other weapons were located on the juvenile. The situation is being resolved and there is no ongoing threat to students or staff."

Angels Camp, CA...Live 2018 Mother Lode League Football. Tonight the Bret Harte Bullfrogs take on Calaveras for the 2018 Big Game. Tonight we are streaming the JV Game as well and will webcast both games in their entirety. In the JV Game Calaveras hopped over the Frogs 24 - 6. Ladies, Gents, Boys & Girls we have us a game. Bret Harte is only down by a score and had the momentum going into the half. Calaveras has taken every Big Game since 1999. Calaveras is now 19 in a row. Congrats Skins!








Additional Information Regarding Robbery in Mokelumne Hill Yesterday

Mokelumne Hill, CA...The following is to update information regarding the reported robbery in Mokelumne Hill yesterday (10-23-18): On 10-23-18 at approx. 0930 hours Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 26 and Campo Seco Turnpike Road in Mokelumne Hill where a female victim reported that her vehicle tire had been shot after she followed robbery suspects from her residence on Jojoba Lane. The victim told deputies that she woke up to a male suspect inside her house. She reported that he took several hundred dollars and fled along with several other subjects in a green colored Mustang. The victim along with another person left the residence and began searching for the suspect’s vehicle in the area. The victim located and followed the suspect’s vehicle to the area of Highway 26 and Campo Seco Turnpike Road in Mokelumne Hill at which point both vehicles stopped. The male suspect fired a single shot at the victim’s vehicle, striking the tire and disabling the victim’s vehicle. (Attached picture of the victim’s vehicle tire).

Suspects Arrested and Investigation Continues Into Home Invasion Robbery

Mokelumne Hill, CA....From the Calaveras Sheriff's Dept..."The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a reported robbery that occurred this morning at a residence near the town of Mokelumne Hill in Calaveras County. This is an active investigation and more information will be provided when it is available. The preliminary information on the case is as follows: On 10-23-18 at approx. 0930 hours a 32 year old female victim called the Sheriff’s Office to report a robbery at her residence. The victim reported she woke up to having several people inside her house and the suspects took money from her. The victim also reported that her vehicle was shot at by one of the suspects during the incident.
