Frogtown, USA...The Calaveras County Wine Judging is one of the big events that lead up the 2011 Fair and Frog Jump that runs or hops from May 19th - 22nd this year. One of the central attractions is the Wine Pavilion run by the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance. The Wine Pavilion will prominently feature all of the award winners and more from the wine completion. Calaveras County, CA...Update 4/28/11: Michael has received some very generous donations from our viewers! The family is so thankful! "I am so excited for him, what a wonderful opportunity he has before him and with his drive to do the best he can, hopefully he will place during the state competition. He is going to go back to the IGA in Copperopolis again tomorrow with his project to answer questions and share what he has discovered. Hopefully by the end of the day he will have reached his goal , he has a baseball game on Saturday morning" States Michael's Grandmother, Cindi Bent.....Local 8th grader, Michael Legge is headed to the State Science Fair! Michael won 1st place at the Calaveras County Science Fair in his division with his project "Mysterious Bacteria vs. Evil Tobacco." Michael is a student at Mark Twain Elementary and needs our help! Here is a letter from Michael: "Hello my name is Michael Legge and I am an 8th grade student at Mark Twain Elementary School. This summer, Zucca Mountain Vineyards presents a new series of outdoor workshops called: Art and Wine…In the Garden. The workshops are open to the public and take place on the 1st Saturday of every month at the tasting room garden on Main Street in Murphys. Each day will feature a new artist and project. Tickets include the workshop, a glass of wine and all the materials needed to accomplish the project. You will have one-on-one instruction as well as a fun group atmosphere. You just need to bring yourself and a smile. .....

The Columbia Wine Tasting, an annual fundraising event sponsored by the Columbia College Foundation, has a history of selling out. It’s not surprising – who wouldn’t want to spend a spring afternoon strolling through Columbia State Historic Park, visiting quaint buildings filled with exquisite food and wine? This year’s wine tasting, the 35th Annual, will be held on Sunday, April 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
