Many people enjoy deer. Unfortunately, deer can be very destructive to gardens, orchards, and landscaped areas, particularly in foothill and coastal districts where nearby woodlands provide deer with cover. Deer may damage a variety of plants, including vegetables, fruit and nut trees, grape and berry vines, grasses, and many ornamentals. They cause damage by eating as well as trampling crops. Young trees or shrubs may also be damaged when deer rub their antlers on trunks and limbs.....

San Andreas, CA...This Saturday, July 28th, Master Gardeners will conduct their monthly “Open Garden Day” at their Demonstration Garden at the Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas. The Demonstration Garden is located on the west side of the Historical Society’s Red Barn along Mountain Ranch Road. The garden is accessed through the Government Center and attendees may park at the Government Center. The garden will be open from 10 am until 2 pm. There is no charge for the event.....

Arnold, CA The Bristol's parking lot was filled again last weekend. The Sierra Nevada Folk Art festival rolled into town. There were many different arts and craft, food, kettle corn, massage and community booths. EPFD and Calaveras County Search and Rescue even had booths. There was some great live music as well. We even have a video clip to give you a fee for what it was like to attend...
