Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Business Association awarded Firefall Jewelers first place during the annual ACBA Holiday Decoration Contest. Markwick’s Medium-Psychic won second place, The Salon third place and Prestige Gallery fourth place. Honorable mentions were awarded to FX Salon, Vintage Heart, Clothes Mine, Claussen’s and Rabobank.

Rain & Snow To Linger Through Week

Arnold, CA...Today Mostly cloudy. Numerous rain and snow showers in the morning...then scattered rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Highs 26 to 38 higher elevations...38 to 46 lower elevations. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches higher elevations. Snow level 5000 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 15 mph...except southwest 20 to 30 mph over ridges. Tonight Rain and snow in the evening...then rain and snow showers after midnight. Lows 19 to 33 higher elevations...32 to 38 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation lower elevations...3 to 4 inches higher elevations. Snow level 5000 feet. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph...except south 20 to 35 mph over ridges....

This Week at the Angels Camp CHS Thrift Store Adoption Center – DIXIE, ALBERT, DOTTIE, & RUDY!

Angels Camp, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Cat Adoption Center in Angels Camp, located in Angels Town Center at 240 S. Main St./Hwy 49 (open Thurs.-Sat., 11am to 5pm). We will also have kitties available to meet you at our Arnold Adoption Center, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market (open Thurs.-Sat., 10am to 5pm). Both adoption centers will be loaded with kittens this week and many of them qualify for our "Ginger Kitty Special" reduced adoption rate on all orange & buff kitties. Even if you don't dare venture out in the storm, it is forecast to be over by Saturday, which should be a lovely day for kitty shopping. Come and meet some kittens!

Rotarians Help Provide Mobility

San Andreas, CA...Angels-Murphys Rotary Club Past-Presidents John Holleman and Roger La Jeunesse have an ongoing project of collecting broken and used wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Rotary District 5220 has partnered with Hope Haven West to repair and distribute the wheelchairs where they are sorely needed. Members of Riverbank Rotary have gone on delivery trips to fit specific recipients with their chairs in Mexico, Honduras, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Chairs and equipment which need repair are sent to the South Dakota State Penitentiary where inmates refurbish them. The wheelchairs are provided primarily to children who are living with undiagnosed spina bifida, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. Some are adults who have never had a means of movement other than being carried by family members...
