Angels Camp, CA...Last night we had an anonymous phone call that some neighborhood miscreants were vandalizing Main Street. We had to go see what mischief they were up too. What we found was a group of young men smiling and telling tales of daring do. For four decades they have been meeting in the dark every year to paint the town green. Last night was their 40th Anniversary of their painting ritual a few days before the Fair & Frog Jump....

San Andreas Resident Arrested for Evading a Peace Officer |

Angels Camp, CA...On 05/06/2014 at approximately 6:44 AM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to a verbal argument between a male and female at a residence on Gold Cliff Road. The female had locked herself inside the residence and the male was standing outside. The male, 29 year old San Andreas resident, Michael Wilmshurst, was reported to have a knife in his hand and possibly be under the influence of narcotics....

Angels Camp, CA ... Fun for the Whole Herd is what the 2014 Frog Days Youth Parade brought to Angels Camp last Thursday morning. A herd of spectators, ranging from infants to seniors, spilled from the sidewalks while paraders took over Highway 49 in downtown Angels Camp for two hours. Dancers, musicians, princesses, marchers, friend and families brought camaraderie and tradition to this annual event to kick off Frog Days and the Calaveras County Fair. Sponsored and organized annually by Soroptimists International of Calaveras County Century 21 Sierra Properties was this year's co-sponsor.

Angels Camp, CA...On April 27th CAMPS Restaurant played host to Angels Camp The Angels Camp Business Association's Taste Of Calaveras. This was the eighth Annual “A Taste of Calaveras” and this event is a celebration of wine, food, art and culture of Calaveras County showcasing only Calaveras businesses and products. Featuring vintages from Calaveras wineries and foods from Calaveras restaurateurs. Calaveras artists attended with a special art show along with a premium raffle featuring Calaveras Experiences and Calaveras products....

Historic Angels Has A New Green Frog Road To Utica |

Angels Camp, CA....The Renaissance Team from Bret Harte painted a 'pathway to the park' from downtown Angels. It starts on the sidewalk on the Hardscrabble Lane side of the Visitors Center and go up to Bush Street , turn right and go all the way to the corner of Utica Park. The 'pathway' is about 300 bright green frogs. The students rolled up their sleeves and got to work. This is a project of the Commemorative Committee and was approved by the City and the Planning Commission....

Division One Golf Tournament Visits Greenhorn |

Angels Camp, CA....The American Sky Golf Conference Championships called Greenhorn Creek home for 2014. The whole Greenhorn creek team upped their game to attract and get the course ready for some of Golf's young guns to hit our local fairways, greens and even once and awhile the rough. The course was lengthened and prepped for the event and judging from the response of some of the visiting teams from as far away as upstate New York it passed with flying colors...
