Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards is located at 1894 Six Mile Road in Murphys. An overwhelming number of our neighbors struggle to make ends meet and to put food on the table for their families. There is something you can do about it; you can help by assuring that there will be food available at the food bank for people in need. When you support the food bank, you strengthen the community safety net that helps people become healthy and productive members of our communities. Food helps to stabilize a family so they can make it through a crisis or difficult time.....

BNI - Business Network Int'l., a networking organization specializing in business referrals among members, is developing its newest chapter, ACORN (Angels Camp Organization for Referral & Networking), in Angels Camp! Murphys, CA....The members of the Murphys, Columbia, San Andreas, and Sonora Fire Departments are pleased to announce the Gold Country Firemen’s Muster scheduled for June 21st and 22nd, 2008 in beautiful downtown Murphys California. This California Firemen’s Muster Association sanctioned muster will bring equipment from across the state for a weekend of old time firemen and family fun. 2008 also marks the 150th anniversary for the San Andreas Fire Department. Events planned include antique fire engine competitions....

San Andreas, CA...If you were looking for many of the "Powers That Be" yesterday afternoon one good place to find them was Classroom 3 at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. It was another of the ongoing Economic Development meetings that have been spearheaded by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. Attending and participating were representatives from the Calaveras Board of Supervisors, Calaveras County Community Development Agency, Angels Camp City Council, Calaveras Visitors & Convention Bureau, Calaveras Business Council, Agricultural Groups, Community Groups & more...

San Andreas, CA...Master Gardeners and First Five Calaveras have been working very hard to get the children’s garden ready for this special event at the demonstration garden located at the government center in San Andreas. On Saturday, May 31st from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM, children can get involved in many fun activities. Learning activities include making pots from newspaper, planting seeds, learning about butterflies and worms, decorating visors and book bags, and visiting the reading tent. There will also be music, face painting, giant bubbles and a cooking demonstration. All activities are free. For more information please call First Five at 754-1470 or Master Gardeners at 754-6477. Angels Camp, CA...This last Memorial Day Monday I thought it would be a good idea to do another Angels Camp Bypass Update. Every few weeks we have tried to give you an idea of how things are progressing. According to Cal Trans's Chantel Miller, the Bulk of the excavating portion should be finished up in a week or so. As this portion winds down it should also alleviate some of the delays many of you have experienced. We have also heard from a few of you that the delays have been enjoyable as it gave you an opportunity to experience firsthand the impressive display of man and machine that has been making quick work of the Bypass route...
