CHP is reporting a Collision with Ambulance at Hwy 4 just east of Gelding Road. Ambulance is Blocking Lane so please use caution in the area. It appears to be a vehicle vs.rock wall. We will keep you updated if needed. UPDATE...Major Injury. CHP release should be available soon. UPDATE #2 Fatality. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family. It is confirmed that 20 year old Stockton Resident Rachael Nosanow perished as a result of her injuries last evening. CHP Release enclosed.....

Angels Camp, CA....Camps at Greenhorn Creek was filled, as the Angels Camp Business Association met to discuss large-scale retailers in the city, Bruce Baracco, interim city planning director and Planning Commissioners Bob Middleton and Henry Petithomme put on an excellent show. They reviewed the guidelines developed by the planning commission if a Large Scale Retailer were to express interest into coming to Angels Camp and to discuss the Draft Large Format Guidelines recently put into place. The City also prepared a nice slide presentation to accompany the meeting. Click on the image below to view presentation. Angels Camp, CA...Overall tonights meeting had a light agenda. The decision was made to publicize the Planning Commision Opening for another 30 days As of today there was one applicant, Joe Darby. Several Council members expressed their thanks to Mr. Darby for his persistence and interest in helping the city and let him know how impressed they were with his qualifications. If no additional applicants come forward by next months meeting, then he will be appointed to fill the Commissioner's position.....

Vina Moda Winery and Zucca Mountain Winery will be offering their wines for tasting this Wednesday evening in CAMPS Restaurant at Greenhorn Creek Resort. The public is invited to taste free of charge. Wine and crackers will be served. Welcome Readers....My travels have landed me in many places across our United States, but I must say that in all the areas I have resided our Calaveras community is the most caring. I recently attended a fund raiser for my friends, Kelly and Tracey Ellifritz, who were injured in a motorcycle accident. I am sure many of you read about it. The location of their event, Black Bart Theater, was donated. The three bands that performed, Blue Shoes, Thick Soup, and Still Life, donated their time and talents. Many local businesses donated their wares that ranged from food gifts, jewelry, kitchen items, and wine baskets to gift....
