Calaveras County, CA....The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have one-way traffic control on State Route 4 from Six Mile Creek/Six Mile Road to Davis Ranch Road in Calaveras County. Work will begin on Monday, June 2, 2008, through Friday, June 6, 2008, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Crews will be grinding and digging out to prepare the roadway for paving.......

Angels Camp, CA....The Commencement Program for the Class of 2008 for John Vierra High School and Vallecito High School Graduates was held tonight at the Dr. Elliott Smart Performing Arts Center in Angels Camp. The house was packed full of family members and friends watching their loved ones graduate from high school. The Processional was "Pomp and Circumstance." Catherine Jones, Principal presented the Classes of 2008 while Michael Chimente Performed the Acceptance of the Classes of 2008. Members of the Board of Education awarded the diploma's to the graduates......

This California Firemen’s Muster Association sanctioned muster will bring equipment from across the state for a weekend of old time firemen and family fun. 2008 also marks the 150th anniversary for the San Andreas Fire Department. Events planned include antique fire engine competitions....

It was another of the ongoing Economic Development meetings that have been spearheaded by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. San Andreas, CA...Master Gardeners and First Five Calaveras have been working very hard to get the children’s garden ready for this special event at the demonstration garden located at the government center in San Andreas. On Saturday, May 31st from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM, children can get involved in many fun activities. Learning activities include making pots from newspaper, planting seeds, learning about butterflies and worms, decorating visors and book bags, and visiting the reading tent. There will also be music, face painting, giant bubbles and a cooking demonstration. All activities are free. For more information please call First Five at 754-1470 or Master Gardeners at 754-6477.
