Yosemite National Park to Remain Closed Till Saturday

Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park will remain closed at least until Saturday, January 30, 2021, conditions permitting. Park staff continue to clear roads and trails, mitigate hazard trees, and work toward restoring safe conditions for employees and visitors due to last week's Mono wind event. A significant winter storm is forecast to begin Tuesday night. Hazardous conditions, including substantial snow accumulation, falling trees, and dangerous road conditions, are anticipated through the week.

Angels Camp, CA... This past weekend, over 34 students and their team teacher/coach participated in the first-ever fully virtual student event, Battle of the Books. Students and teachers were delighted to have the friendly academic competition when all student events have otherwise come to a halt during the pandemic.

Sacramento, CA...Conditions Improving Statewide, Allowing Most Counties to Return to Most Strict (Purple) Tier of Blueprint for a Safer Economy. With Pandemic Far from Over, Californians Urged to Wear Masks, Limit Mixing, Get Vaccinated When Eligible. Officials with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) today ended the Regional Stay at Home Order, lifting the order for all regions statewide, including the three regions that had still been under the order – San Joaquin Valley, Bay Area and Southern California. Four-week ICU capacity projections for these three regions are above 15%, the threshold that allows regions to exit the order. The Sacramento Region exited the order on January 12 and the Northern California region never entered the order.
