San Andreas, CA... The Calaveras Count Water District's Board will be back in session on Wednesday Morning. With the recent labor unrest there is bound to be an increasing focus on the boards actions the next fews weeks and months. Bill Perley, Director of Utility Services for Calaveras County Water District reports that construction is complete on the water pipeline extension along Highway 26 and Jenny Lind Road in the Rancho Calaveras area near Valley Springs. Mozingo Construction completed the installation of 2,700 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe connecting two zones of the Jenny Lind water system. Linking the zones together will assist in managing water distribution systemwide....

Arnold, CA...A public meeting has been scheduled by the Ebbetts Pass Fire District to discuss fire safety and protection for the Hathaway Pines area on Tuesday, August 21st, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Ebbetts Pass Fire District Station located at 1037 Blagen Road in Arnold. Representatives from the Ebbetts Pass Fire District and Calaveras County Water District will be present to discuss the current fire dangers and proposed safety practices for residents, and the water supply and availability for the Hathaway Pines area. The public is encouraged to attend this informational meeting.

Water conservations measures are urgently requested of all residents in and around the Rancho Calaveras area of Valley Springs. Due to extreme heat conditions, the rate of water use by customers is exceeding the capability of the CCWD system to recharge. A pipeline extension under construction on High 26, part of system improvements intended to help balance the system between its two zones, is not yet complete...
