Lorie Christine Muma, age 47, of Sacramento died Monday, March 11, 2013 after being struck by a commuter train while walking her bicycle across the tracks. Lorie was born on December 8, 1965 in Stockton, Ca to Clarence and Carol Muma. A caring and loving woman Lorie is preceded in death by both of her parents, Clarence and Carol Muma and Grandparents. Details Start to Emerge in Triple Fatality Head On (Updated with Names) |

Jamestown, CA....At 3:12pm yesterday on Hwy 108 near Obyrnes Ferry Road 3 lives ended and a forth hangs in the balance at Doctors Hospital. Notifications are still being made but this is what CHP has provided at this time. 59 year old Alan Lee Maderos, 65 year old Kathleen Elane Maderos from Manteca perished in their Toyota and 51 year old Claude Gosselin from Roseville passed away and his 57 year old female passenger Nancy Gallegos also from Roseville sustained major blunt force trauma injuries and remains hospitalized. The Toyota being driven by the 51 year old Manteca man was traveling westbound at 50-55 miles per hour and allowed his vehicle to drift left into the eastbound traffic lane in into the path of the oncoming Acura from Roseville. Niether party had time to take evasive action and both vehicles collided head-on...

Murphys, CA...Clark Robert Burton, DDS died Saturday, March 2, 2013. He was 90. Doctor Burton was born May 14, 1922 in Berkeley, CA and was raised in Concord, CA. A member of the first cub scout pack in the US, he went on to reach his Eagle Scout and Sea Scout. He studied chemistry at UC Berkeley (Cal). His ROTC group went to basic training and came back as army students living on the campus in army uniforms. He served in WWII as a navigator on the B-24 and later the B-29 for the Army Air Corp. When the war in Europe ended, he returned to UC Berkeley to complete his chemistry degree. Clark was vacationing at the Cal ski lodge when he met Carol Guild. They graduated and married in 1947. He was hired by Shell Chemical in Martinez, CA as a chemist where he worked for 7 years. Clark changed careers and attended UCSF and got his doctorate in dental surgery in 1958. He moved the family to Calaveras County to start his dental practice. The first location of his practice was in Altaville, and later moved to Murphys. Doctor Burton retired in 1986...

Copperopolis, CA...Jose Garibay Gonzales was a resident of Copperopolis for 21 years. Died March 11, 2013 at his residence in Copperopolis, CA Services will be Saturday March 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp. Interment will be at Copperopolis Cemetery. Jose was born on the 25th of November 1922 to Rogaciano and Carmen Gonzales. He has 5 siblings: Maria, Jesusita(deceased), Tony(deceased), Nacho (deceased), and Feliz. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Rosalinda Avalos Gonzales, to whom he was married in Reno Nevada.they have been together for 60 years since October 24th 1953 other than his wife he is survived by his four children: EstellaGonzales Guizar, Joe Gonzales Jr, Rick Gonzales(Debbie Gonzales), Patricia Gonzales. He has seven grandchildren: Johnny Mendez, Ricky Gonzales Jr, Nina Marie Guizar, Rachel Mendez (Jay Zimmer), Michael Gonzales, Jolene Guizar, and Sonia Gonzales.

Arnold, CA..Jimmie Rex Chambers, Born September 28, 1939 in Higgins, Texas. Passes away March 4, 2013 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA. He was a Plant Operator for Pacific Gas And Electric Company in Antioch for 36 years. He was a former member of the Rotary Club. He was an avid golfer and excellent mechanic, he loved to roam his neighborhood and talk with friends. He adored his grandchildren and always asked about “his babies”. He is loved and will be missed dearly...

Murphys, Ca...Murphys resident Jakob “Jack” Woldt died March 3, 2013 at his home after a 10 year battle with Cancer. Born June 17, 1930 he was 82 years old.
Mr. Woldt was born in Fulda, Germany to Wilhelm and Josepha Woldt. He was educated in Germany. At the age of 16 , he was employed by the U.S. Army in labor services. He was stationed at various Army bases throughout Germany from 1946 through 1957. He participated in the “Berlin Airlift” from June 26, 1948 through September 30, 1949. He was discharged from the Army as Private 1st class in 1957...

Murphys, CA...Mrs. Mary Dutton Waldron Smith, wife of Dr. Milton Benjamin Smith of Murphys, passed peacefully into eternity on Friday, February 22nd, in her home in Murphys and in the presence of family members who loved and cared for her over the last years of her life. Born in Newton, MA on May 7, 1917, the second daughter of Chauncey and Millie (Rogers) Waldron. After the birth of her brother Chan in 1918, her mother Millie died from the flu (epidemic). The following year her father married Ruth Alden and together they raised Ruthie, Mary and Chan and had two other children, Ted and Paul. The family eventually built a summer home in Maine where they spent many adventurous summers and she continued to return to Maine with family and friends from California and beyond...
