San Andreas, CA The Board was back for another lively session on Tuesday. Attorney Chris Williams started off the Public Comment session and was followed by more Building Dept. testimony. Supervisor Tryon also mentioned that he noticed a strong resemblance in Anna Nicole Smith's baby and through his hat in the paternity ring. Several issues in flux right now have made the Public Comment portion of these meetings very interesting and not to be missed. We have the video enclosed...

San Andreas, CA In this meeting the board voted into effect the Voluntary Oak Management Plan. They also discussed the possible road connecting Copperopolis to New Melones. Open Comments brought additional comments on the county septic issue and much more. We have the meeting in a 150k broadband version and also back by popular demand is the dial up version. New for this week is an audio only mp3 file just in case you would like follow county government on your music player while you are out and about. Who knows, Board of Supervisors Mp3s could even be a start of a new exercise program for county residents. Some of the meetings could raise your blood pressure, increase your respiratory rate, make you break into a sweat, in rare cases you might even be compelled to jump up and down flail your arms wildly, almost always though they finish up with a cool down phase....

Update...under 1,400 Failing Septics...Not over 1,800 as was first reported! |

| San Andreas, CA We received an email from Development Director Stephanie Moreno that the number of Septic Systems in the county that may need repair is under 1,400 and not the 1,800 plus that was mentioned in the Study Session. We have updated a previous article to reflect the changes. The video of the Building Dept Study session will still contain the higher number as it raw footage from the meeting. |

San Andreas, CA After a week off the Calaveras County Supervisors have a full schedule. The Biggest item on the agenda may well be the study session on the Building Department. San Andreas, CA Yesterday's meeting was a lively one. Funding was approved for the planning stage of the new jail and the Bald Mountain problem seems to be cooling off. The real interest seemed to be in the Oak Voluntary Management Plan. This is another one of those issues that is very polarizing. There are big differences in the way groups on opposite sides of this issue view property rights. If you are a landholder in Calaveras County you need to follow this. The meeting is enclosed...

San Andreas, CA Yesterday's session was a lively one. During the public comment period the gallery was overflowing with members of the Calaveras Builders Assoc. They brought their concerns about the building department to the board. A slightly toned down "Moratorium" on projects that need planning and zoning adjustments was put into effect for the next 10 months. Funding for Phase 1 & 2 of the General Plan update was pushed through as well.
