Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau Sets Programs to Reach More Visitors in 2018

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/02/2018 06:45 PM
Sonora, CA...To reach aggressive visitor attendance goals in 2018, the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau, the area’s destination marketing organization, has taken some bold steps, including international outreach in public relations and tourism, addition of staff, credentialed assessment of County for tourism growth, and new marketing programs. One major effort is to expand visitation year-round to Tuolumne County, as well as promote its lesser-known assets. A renewed focus will promote meeting space and group activities that can take place in the shoulder season and mid-week. “Tourism numbers continue to increase year over year but there are definitely times when we’d like to see more visitors,” stated Lisa Mayo, TCVB Executive Director. “Creating programming and messaging which focuses on assets beyond tourist favorites should increase overnight stays through the year when our lodging partners have occupancy.” Joining the TCVB Team to help with this effort is Katie Kirkland, Communications and Tourism Manager. Kirkland will also be handling public relations outreach in California and beyond.
