Angels Camp, CA...There’s a new insurance option in town – one with a face many in Calaveras County might find familiar. Jim Bailey, a resident of Murphys, California, has taken over the old Angels Camp AAA location at 465 S. Main St in Angels Camp. “AAA made the decision to leave Angels Camp but I decided to stay in Calaveras County. I am a member of this community, and everything it represents. So instead of leaving, I decided to start an office of my own and continue serving the people in Calaveras County in the best way I know how. I’m proud to be able to be here to help locals find the insurance coverage they need. It’s a community I know and one I look forward to continuing to help in any way I can.” – Jim Bailey, City Underwriting Agency with Jim Bailey

Supreme Court Rules Sales Tax For All |
Posted by: thepinetree on 06/21/2018 09:16 AM
|
Washington, DC...JUSTICE KENNEDY delivered the opinion of the Court. When a consumer purchases goods or services, the consumer’s State often imposes a sales tax. This case requires the Court to determine when an out-of-state seller can be required to collect and remit that tax. All concede that taxing the sales in question here is lawful. The question is whether the out-of-state seller can be held responsible for its payment, and this turns on a proper interpretation of the Commerce Clause, U. S. Const., Art. I, §8, cl. 3.
