3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to Be Held on March 10th |

| Calaveras County, CA...The first Mother Lode March Madness 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held Sunday, March 10, at Calaveras High and Toyon Middle School. The tournament is open to all players up to 12th grade and will feature the following divisions for boys and girls: Elementary (up to sixth grade); Middle School (seventh and eighth graders); JV (ninth and 10th graders); and Varsity (11th and 12th graders). Entry fee is $40 per team. Space is limited. For more information or to get a registration form, call tournament director Jeremy Malamed by phone at 217-4563 or email at malamed@sbcglobal.net. |

Frogtown, USA....We are still taking registrations for this spring season until Saturday, February 9th. Forms may be downloaded from our web site www.calaverasamericanlittleleague.com and mailed in, or registrations will be accepted at Frogtown on Saturday from 9:30 to Noon. Registrations must be postmarked by February 9th, or turned in at Frogtown on Saturday. If you haven't signed you child up yet, this is your last chance.

Calaveras Girls Take Top Spot at Jim Frazier Tournament |

Stackton, CA..The Calaveras Girls Soccer Team took the top spot at the Jim Frazier League Tournament last weekend. Girls U19 Jim Frazier Winter League - 13 teams from Modesto, Stockton, Merced, Turlock, Tracy, Tuolumne, Ebbetts Pass, Linden and Calaveras. Their tournament record: 3 wins. 1 tie. 1st place. Tied Ebbetts Pass 0-0. Defeated Turlock 3-0. Defeated Linden 3-0. Defeated Stockton 4-0. The top goal scorer was Tiffany Souza. The team now is sitting with a 7-2-1 record during the regular season...

Angels Camp, CA...Last Friday night Bret Harte had their Winter Homecoming game and evening. Amador was in town and the Varsity Frogs came out on top of a very tough and hard fought game and are currently second in the Mother Lode League behind Summerville. Angels Camp, CA...In a game that will only add to the stories and history in the battles between Bret Harte and Calaveras the Bullfrogs came out on top of a triple overtime game. Yes...triple overtime. Three times these teams were knotted up as time ran out. Both teams left everything they had on the floor. We have photos below including the one below that Kim Evans sent in. Bear Valley, CA...Ski Racing is alive and well in the Central Sierra, Young Ski Racers from China Peak, Badger Pass, Dodge Ridge and Bear Valley made run after run through the gates on the Bear Valley Course. Bear Valley and BVSEF the Bear Valley Snowsports Education Foundation hold this race the first part of January every year. For two days the clack of shin guards banging the gates and the scrape of skis on snow are sounds that accompany the racers down the hill. In the crisp and cold conditions the skiers had perfect snow for consistent and speedy runs. Enjoy the photos below taken by Mark Silverstone and his staff at West World Images.

An Evening of Bret Harte Basketball! The Frogs Leap to Wins for JV & Varsity! |

Angels Camp, CA...Last night we webcast two Bret Harte vs Linden Basketball Games. We started with the JV Game as they have two players from Europe that will have family watching. Bret Harte JV took a close game that was tied up several times 52/49. Varsity put on a scoring clinic and the final was 76 to 43. The game was fast tempo with lots of fast breaks...everything was working tonight for the Bret Harte. The Linden team played hard and was battling until the end.
