Tuesday: Boys Soccer travels to Mariposa, Girls Golf takes on Riverbank in Escalon, And Volleyball is at Modesto Christian.
Wedensday: The Cross Country team travels to Lodi for the Cross Country Flame Invitational. "We go against a lot of big schools there but if we compair ourselves to some of the smaller schools we do really well." Said Coach Maurer last week at the Frogtown scrimmage against Sonora....

Frogtown, CA....Thursday August 26th the Bret Harte Bullfrogs and the Sonora Wild Cats had a cross country scrimmage. The Varsity teams run around 3 miles as the Frosh-Soph team runs about 2 miles. While I was at Frogtown (Calaveras County Fair Grounds) I asked Coach Keith Maurer about his top perfromers for the day. " Conor Fredrick, Kyle Eastman, And two Sophmores Joe Hollett, Kevin Maurer. Said Coach Maurer. Coach Maurer then went on to say "We are not sure who our top 7 will be its wide open right now". I then asked the coach what was your biggest.....

White Pines, CA...The Ballers from Valley Springs traveled to White Pines to take on the Fillmore Finn team from Arnold for the Softball County Championship. Fillmore Finn put 11 runs on the board in the first inning and never looked back. The Ballers did make a comeback in the 5th inning scoring 6 runs and in 6th inning scoring another 3. Even with all those runs in the late innings Fillmore Finn cruised to a 16-12 win over the Ballers. "It was the best game we ever played" said Will Darby catcher for Fillmore Finn. "We have been waiting all year to play them (Valley Springs Ballers)" said Joe Darby. Congrats to Fillmore Finn your 2010 Softball County Champions....

It’s no secret that Mike Ziehlke has been a big part of Pop Warner football in our area for a long time. He was a player on the first Pop Warner team in Angels Camp then named the Sierra Packers. Mr. Ziehlke took a 10 year break in coaching but like most people that get involved with coaching at any level he felt the need to come back and so he did 2 years ago.....
