Angels Camp, CA...Golf skills, good sportsmanship, and great summer fun - Greenhorn Creek Golf Course and Resort will be offering two great summer golf programs for local kids. The summer tour of The First Tee of San Joaquin kicks off Saturday, June 13, at 9:00 am. This nine week program for students ages 7-17 is part of The First Tee, a national program that has brought golf to over 9 million students nationwide since its inception in 1997. The First Tee helps shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by teaching them values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf...

Indianapolis, IN...Juan Pablo Montoya often has said that his most formidable competition in the Verizon IndyCar Series are his three Team Penske teammates. In the closing laps of the 99th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, that proved to be the case. Montoya, who won the race 15 years earlier, held off reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion and teammate Will Power by .1046 of a second after a thrilling battle over the final 15 laps that also included 2008 race winner Scott Dixon. There were five lead changes in the final 15 laps following a restart, with Montoya overtaking Dixon in Turn 1 for second and Power in Turn 4 to lead Lap 197 by .0420 of a second....

Arnold's Drew Loring Takes Second At Sea Otter Classic Downhill

Salinas, CA...The Sea Otter Classic at Laguna Seca Raceway in Seaside, CA drew over 65,000 bicycling fans April 16-19. Competitions included road bike and mountain bike events with athletes from all over the U.S. and from Canada, including at least 3 young men from our mountain. Vendors and special bicycle demonstrations filled the main area of the raceway. Contests, raffles, give-aways abounded. (In fact, Drew won a fixie bike, goggles, shin guards, sunglasses, and much more!)
