Local 8th Grader Headed to State Science Fair.....Still A Little Short of His Goal

Calaveras County, CA...Update 4/28/11: Michael has received some very generous donations from our viewers! The family is so thankful! "I am so excited for him, what a wonderful opportunity he has before him and with his drive to do the best he can, hopefully he will place during the state competition. He is going to go back to the IGA in Copperopolis again tomorrow with his project to answer questions and share what he has discovered. Hopefully by the end of the day he will have reached his goal , he has a baseball game on Saturday morning" States Michael's Grandmother, Cindi Bent.....Local 8th grader, Michael Legge is headed to the State Science Fair! Michael won 1st place at the Calaveras County Science Fair in his division with his project "Mysterious Bacteria vs. Evil Tobacco." Michael is a student at Mark Twain Elementary and needs our help! Here is a letter from Michael: "Hello my name is Michael Legge and I am an 8th grade student at Mark Twain Elementary School. Mark Twain doesn't require students to do science fair projects but I went out and did one on my own. .....

As U2, mine and Kim’s favorite vocal group, sang “Beautiful Day, “indeed it was as I journeyed over the Highway 88 Pass on my way to Nevada. I just knew I had missed the beautiful foliage that changes color this time of year, but was I ever surprised to learn that I was wrong! The colors were breath-taking! Greetings from El Jardin in Murphy’s......I wanted to meet my out of town friends, Greg and Brenda, for dinner somewhere besides the heart of Murphy’s on the eve of Grape Stomp. I decided on El Jardin. I asked my friend, Tad Folendorf, to join us because I knew his personality would fit this circle of friends.. We did not arrive until after 8. Murphys, CA...."Table Hopping" is back! This is a Feature column where we provide you, our viewers with restaurant interviews and reviews about the fine eating establishment's in our lovely area.... This week, Local Chef, Jenny Baxter headed out to Noto's of Murphys. "Earlier this week my friend, Jim Gray, invited me to dinner. He has wanted to dine at Noto’s and has not had an opportunity until now, so that was our choice for the evening. Our timing could not have been better! The twilight temperature in Murphy’s was perfect! Because it was near closing the seating was not packed. We choose an outdoor table and we were greeted by Lorenzo Noto, the owner and chef.
