Murphys, CA...Registration is now open for the 30th Annual Calaveras County Grape Stomp Competition set to take place on Saturday, October 7th @ 9:00-5:00 at Murphys Community Park! The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance is honored to host this annual event that brings teams together for an exciting day of grape stomping fun and auction - and all for a good cause. Proceeds benefit local organizations and our high school scholarship program.

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center will hold its 23rd Annual Fall Health and Community Resources Fair Saturday, September 30, 7am - Noon at the Hospital Campus. A wealth of information will be available on senior support and health services, health insurance information, long term and short term care. Also participating are experts in chronic disease management, mental health, nutrition and personal well-being. Low cost health screening and services include the five-panel blood analysis, including chemistry panel, thyroid, complete blood count, lipid panel, iron for women, PSA for men, and vitamin D deficiencies for $45. Those participating in the blood analysis should fast after 10PM the night before. Flu shots will be offered at no cost.
