On September 6, 2007, Calaveras County Sheriffs Department Detectives, Narcotics and Probation Departments teamed with Agents from California Department of Corrections and Alcohol Beverage Control and conducted Probation and Parole searches in the West Point area. During these searches numerous probationers and parolees were contacted as well as other law violators....

CHP is resonding to a collision that occured at Six Mile Road and Algiers Street in Murphys. Apparently there was someone hit by a vehicle. Ambulance has been called. We will keep you posted as we know more.

On Saturday September 8th, 2007, the CHP in conjunction with the Angels Camp Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint. The purpose of this checkpoint is to target those drivers that are driving under the influence alcohol or drugs(DUI). The sobriety checkpoint will be staffed by officers of the California Highway Patrol and the Angels Camp Police Department that are trained in the detection of alcohol/and or drug impaired drivers. | Milton, CA... Early yesterday morning a Valley Springs resident was riding his 2003 Harley on Milton Rd. When he came around a slight bend in the road a cow was crossing the road in front of him. He took evasive action and laid down the bike. He suffered moderate injuries, a possible broken ankle and broken shoulder. The CHP release is enclosed... |

Fire Report is In For Structure Fire in Mountain Ranch |

Mountain Ranch, CA...The official CAL Fire report is in for the structure fire that occurred on Wednesday, August 29th at 10015 Ham Luddy Lane in Mountain Ranch. One firefighter received minor injuries when celing debris fell. He was treated and released. Cause of the fire is under investigation. The total damges are $150,000 for the strcture, $40,000 in contents and 1/2 acre oak woodland. Red Cross was notified for the two adults that were displaced. The full fire report is enclosed...

| San Andreas, CA...We just received a call from the Sheriff's Office...The recent lightning activity has taken down the Sheriff's Departments Business Lines. 911 Calls Still being handled as normal but if you are calling for non-emengency issues, your calls may go unanswered until the situation returns to normal. |

Murphys, CA... A Southern California resident was driving too fast to maintain control of his 2007 Hwy on Utica Grade last night. He lost control and overturned. We heard from one resident that passed the scene a short while afterwards that from visual observations that he was very lucky to only sustain minor injuries. The full CHP Release is enclosed...
