Building Department and the Calaveras County Builders Association...It's a Date! |

San Andreas, CA... It has seemed that everywhere you turned in our local media the last few weeks, the Calaveras County Building Department(CCBD) and the Calaveras County Builders Assoc.(CCBA) have been front and center. Some of the personnel battles will probably be in the courts for the foreseeable future, but this week may be the turning point in improved communication between the CCBD and the CCBA. In a conversation with the CCBA's Rod Weathers last night, he mentioned that the CCBA has been invited to a meeting tomorrow to sit down with the CCBD to provide input from the CCBA's perspective on the reorganization of the Building Department. Let's hope this is a start of a "Spring Thaw" in the relationship with the County. Enclosed we have links to video clips and additional documents....

Their office came about while talking with each other regarding real estate and where we wanted to hang our licenses. Diane was a full time Realtor in the bay area for 16 years. Primarily with the Prudential California Realty. She began staging her clients homes as well as the listings of other Bay area Realtors, for the last six or seven years. Betty Lovell has been licensed for four years, previously with Gold Country Real Estate and Prudential Ca Realty in Angels Camp....

She was gracious enough to spend about an hour and half with us yesterday afternoon. There have been lots of changes and challenges during her first year on the job...General Plan Updates, Personnel Changes, Emergency Ordinances, Department Realignments and more. It's been a busy year. We talked...septics, building, planning and more. The "On Camera" portion of our interview runs just under 40 minutes.
