Sequoia Woods Country Club is located on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains, roughly between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park, at an elevation of 4000 feet. The club house is open to the public, with a bar and lounge, dining room and seasonal deli. Arnold, CA...The 24th annual Logging Jamboree is August 31st 9:00 to 5:00 at 2148 Dunbar Rd. White Pines. Benefit Sierra Nevada Logging Museum. Prizes, BBQ by Moose, Silent Auction, Kids Games. This wonderful annual Labor Day Weekend jamboree has something for adults and children. The Arnold Rim Trail Association will once again have a booth at the Jamboree, as will our friends from the Calaveras District of the Forest Service. Located in White Pines. Delicious food and beer, wine and soft drinks will be available. Raffle with cool prizes.

Back in the early 90’s, when Shawn was selling out of the back of his truck as “The Eddy Mart”, the most important items to have on hand were life jackets, river shorts, sandals and river knives. Oh yes, and a few things the rafting customers would want, t-shirts, hats, sunscreen, etc. It became obvious that The Eddy Mart was getting too big to operate out of a garage when the whitewater kayaks came. It was time for a storefront. That’s when providence arrived on the scene.

Jamestown, CA...Ride behind a historic steam or diesel locomotive on a train trip through California’s scenic Gold Country. Your 6-mile, 45-minute roundtrip train ride will take you past the water tower from Petticoat Junction, and transport you from the backyards of Jamestown to the rugged hillsides of California’s Mother Lode country. At the end of the line (Rock Spur), your train will pause as the locomotive uncouples, runs around your car on a side track, then re-couples to the train’s opposite end for the return trip to Railtown.
