Murphys, CA...Tom Bender is back again to let you taste some great, hard to find wines from Portugal. This is a wonderful opportunity, not only to taste the wines, but learn about the wines from Tom. He always does a great job of sharing his immense wine knowledge at the Wines of the World events. Murphys Historic Hotel on Wednesday, January 9th, at 6pm. $15.00 per person includes wine and hors doeuvres. Please go and have a great time!

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Arts Council has announced that seats are still available for the 7:00 pm evening show on Sunday, January 13 featuring The Sons of the San Joaquin, but the 3:00 matinee is sold out. The concert by the ever-popular “singing cowboys” will be held in the Bret Harte Theatre, 323 Highway 49, on the campus of the high school in Angels Camp....

Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,450,598 acre-feet of water. The lake water level has been steady or risen very slightly for the past few weeks, and is at 997 ft. above sea level and 89 ft. from full capacity. Water in the main lake is approximately 52-54 degrees. Water is stained in the creek channels, with around 8-12 ft. visibility. The main lake is gin clear, with approximately 15-20 ft. visibility. All ramps are in the water....
