Angels Camp, CA...Monika Rose founded Writers Unlimited in 1984. This Calaveras writers group has published five Manzanita volumes and three Journal volumes. Rose lives in the foothills of Calaveras County. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Delta College with an MA in English. Arnold, CA...The Arts of Bear Valley is pleased to announce the newly created partnership between AOBV and Big Trees State Park. So, Art will definitely be, “In the Park” for this Summer, August 15th through September 6th. Children’s Crafts will start off the Educational Festivities, with Family Day on August 15th. Be sure and bring your school aged children by the AOBV Crafts table. This will be followed by Artists staffing Free Workshops and Demonstrations around the Park.

En Plein Air Artists Featured At Hovey In July |

Murphys, CA...The en plein air oil paintings and pastels of the Calaveras Outdoor Painting Society (COPS) will be featured the month of July at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. A duo of talented local artists – Sunny Sorensen and Judie Cain– will fill the tasting room walls with their original art, all created on location in Calaveras County and beyond. An artist’s reception will be held in their honor from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July12. Complimentary appetizers will be served and wine will be available by the glass or bottle.

And . . . as the voters made their selections for the Most Popular vote, they often mentioned how difficult it was to choose just one.
