Arnold, CA...Every nook and cranny of Cedar Center in Downtown Arnold was filled with classic machines. Roadsters, Rods, Classic Muscle Cars, Porsches, Corvettes, Antique Indy Cars, Motorcycles and More. As a PineTree tradition, we attend the Cedar Center Car Show every year and take a photo of each car on display. Well, we did it again this year! "95 Masks", A look into A Child's Imagination....We Have Photos of All "95 Masks!"

Murphys, CA....."95 Masks", an annual project of Teacher Mary Devany's art class at Avery Middle School. This class project is a wonderful way for the students to express themselves and possibly show others a glimpse of their inner identities. The Recpeption and showing of the masks started in Friday evening at the Art Gallery in Murphys and went through Sunday. Each year, the 6th graders from Avery Middle School get to work with Sharon Strong, owner of the Art Gallery in Murphys, making these beautiful masks expressing themselves and also writing a poem to go with each. They are then displayed at Murphys Art Gallery for three days for the community to enjoy. We stopped by on Friday for the Reception then again over the weekend to get a better look at each mask and what talent these kids have....

Sheep Ranch, CA....Back by popular demand to supply just the right spicy style of music for the Calaveras Arts Council’s annual Cajun fundraiser will be Tom Rigney and Flambeau. The date has been set for Saturday, August 2 for the Dinner/Dance Arts Benefit which is held in Sheep Ranch at the historic Pioneer Hotel, a 90-something year old former boarding house for miners. The showing hours are from 8-5 today, and 8-7 tomorrow. Beautiful work is on display and for sale by donation……

Angels Camp, CA....The works of Columbia College art students will be featured at the college’s Calaveras Center Art Show and Reception on Friday, Apr. 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the free event, which will be held at the center at 2892 Highway 49, Suite 4 in Angels Camp. Entertainment will be provided by guest guitarist Keith Evans, and refreshments will be prepared by the college’s culinary and pastry arts students......

Murphys, CA…. Ironstone Vineyards was in full bloom for Daffodil Days 2008, this weekend. The yellow celebration included food, wine, art and thousands of daffodils. Ironstone has 14 acres of approximately 500,000 daffodils in bloom during this time of year, creating a yellow field of blooms along the road into the vineyards and winery….

Awards in The 11th Annual High School Art Show...ArtSpirit 2008

San Andreas, CA....Following up a call for artists in the Calaveras County Arts Council’s 11th annual ArtSpirit Show, 131 high school students from four high schools entered a total of 200 works in eleven categories. Cash awards of $10 for First Prize, $5 for Second Prize, and Third Place ribbons were given in each category. Additionally, a $20 Popular Choice Award will be presented after the April 17 closing of the exhibit, which is open to the public at 22 Main Street in San Andreas. Here are the results....
