West Point Schools Trunk or Treat a Big Success

Posted by: John_Hamilton on 11/19/2012 08:10 AM
West Point, CA...West Point School Staff and Parent Teacher Group would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who came to our Inaugural Trunk or Treat last night. It was a huge success and we thank you for supporting our children. This was not a fund-raiser but a safe alternative for our trick-or-treaters and for our town to come watch our treaters and meet new friends. We’ll see you next Halloween!

Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital Joins the Mercy Telehealth Network for Stroke Care

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/01/2012 01:50 PM
Sacramento, CA...The Mercy Telehealth Network, which connects Mercy stroke specialists to stroke patients in emergency rooms at rural and community hospitals, has expanded its network reach with the addition of Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas. The Mercy Telehealth Network’s telestroke service uses InTouch Health wireless remote robots to connect stroke patients to neurologists from the Mercy Neurological Institute in Sacramento. This technology is the only FDA approved telehealth technology available. Stroke specialists at the hub “control centers” remotely control the wireless, mobile robots located at 12 Northern and Central California hospitals in the network, which enable them to examine and talk directly to patients, consult with on-site physicians, assist and help direct therapy and interact directly with the family. The Mercy Telehealth Network hubs are located at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento and Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael.

2012 Mokelumne River and Reservoir Cleanups a big success

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/30/2012 09:22 AM
Jackson, CA...More than 215 volunteers joined forces to clean along the Mokelumne River and around Pardee and Camanche Reservoirs during the 2012 Mokelumne River and Pardee-Camanche Reservoir Cleanups on two recent Saturdays, September 15 and October 20. The volunteers removed 2,600 pounds of trash and recyclables, making our local recreation sites healthier for people, fish and wildlife. The Mokelumne River Cleanups have been held for more than 20 years. “We’re finding that Electra is cleaner every year,” said Foothill Conservancy Cleanup Coordinator Randy Berg. “Over time, we’ve pulled out a lot of the large items, so it takes less time and effort to do the cleanup now. Having 50 volunteers at Electra this year made it go really fast. The high-school students and everyone else worked very hard and did a great job.”...
