Moderate Injuries To German Woman When Rented Harley Went Down In Mokelumne Hill Area

Mokelumne Hill, CA...A 48 year old German woman was riding a rented 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Hwy 49, north of Poverty Gulch at about 35 to 40 mph. As she started to negotiate a curve to her left, she was traveling too fast for the curve and had to lean the motorcycle so far to the left that the crash bars scraped on the roadway. She lost control of the motorcycle as it ran off the east roadway edge and up and embankment. The motorcycle rolled over and ejected her to the ground.

San Andreas, CA...June 12th, 2017 – After a wet winter, warming temperatures are quickly drying out the abundant annual grass crop. The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Area of Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. This suspension takes effect June 12th, 2017 and bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves.

San Andreas, CA...Congratulations to the Calaveras High School Class of 2017. 200 of our area's best and brightest marched across the stage and received their diplomas last night in San Andreas. Below we have some highlight photos and full video in HD of the entire ceremony. When you click on most photos they will take you to a full sized version. We have included two versions of the class photo so if we happened to catch your graduate looking left or right we have two versions to hopefully get one where their faces are visible. Below the photos we also have images of the program to refer to if you would like. We have been posting full videos of the graduation ceremonies of our local high schools since 2006. Paloma, CA...Emergency Crews & Fire Fighters are working a collision & Vegetation fire. Units from ground and air are working a fire that has grown to several acres.
42 Year Old Christopher Tilton From Manteca Passed Away Motorcycle Collision In West Point Area

West Point, CA...On May 27th, 2017, at approximately 2330 hours, 42 Year Old Christopher Tilton was riding his 1999 Kawasaki KX250 southbound on Mitchell Mill Road south of Blue Mountain Road on private property at an unknown speed. He entered a right hand curve in the roadway. Due to the Kawasaki's speed, he was unable to negotiate the curve and lost control of the motorcycle. The rider and his bike traveled under the guardrail of a small bridge and then off an approximate 8-10 foot drop to the creek bed below.

Fire Update...3-5 Acre Fire Near Hwy 49 & Lombardi Drive

San Andreas, CA...Crews on ground and air are working a 3-5 acre vegetation fire near Hwy 49 & Lombardi. Access was an issue to begin with but should get it knocked down quickly....(Update...this fire was contained at 15 acres. There were no injuries or structure damage.)
Major Injures In DUI High Speed Crash On Independence Road

West Point, CA...Christoper Lane was driving westbound on Independence Road at a high rate of speed. Noah Tidwell was a passenger in the back seat. As Lane came to a curve to his left, he lost control of his vehicle and allowed it to run off the roadway where it traveled through two wire fences then collided with a large pine tree before coming to a stop. Lane was wearing a seatbelt but suffered major injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Modesto Memorial Hospital for treatment. Tidwell was not wearing a seatbelt and also suffered mojor injuries and was also taken to Modesto Memorial for treatment.
