Murphys, CA...Best of Shows? The 2008 Ironstone Concours d'Elegance is in the books and it was a fabulous event again this year. Tom and Julie Williams and their beautiful 1931 Pierce-Arrow, took Home “Best of Show” honors. When we spoke with Ironstone's Gail Kautz she mentioned that this year's Concours may have been their best ever. They had to start turning away entrants once they passed 350...

Every first Saturday in October the historic town of Murphys transforms into a frenzy of activity with two renowned events - the Calaveras Grape Stomp and the Gold Rush Street Faire. Both events run simultaneously between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and benefit Feeney Community Park on Highway 4 in Murphys. On Saturday, October 4th in Murphys, CA, The annual Grape Stomp event in the Murphys Community Park has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, drawing a large crowd of stompers and spectators from around California. The Cedar Center 3rd Annual Motherlode Arts & Wine Festival, Benefitting the Calaveras Humane Society, Continues to Grow in Size...Even the Animals Were Happy! ~ By John Hamilton

Arnold, CA...If you liked Art, Wine, Animals or all three combined, The Cedar Center in Arnold was the place to be on Saturday for the 3rd Annual Motherlode Arts and Wine Festival benefitting the Calaveras Humane Society. The crowd Hopped, Barked and Skipped back to The Cedar Center again this year. This was a fun event for everyone. It continues to grow every year. Indian Rock Vineyards, Irish Vineyards, Brice Station, Broll Mountain with Bill Broll manning the pouring duties personally, Twisted Oak, Ironstone, Bodega Del Sur, Frog's Tooth and more local wineries had there wares available for attendees to sample. There were also many additional art, furniture, pottery, face painting and gift booths. Uncle Mike's BBQ even had their gigantic turkey drumsticks and other delectables for sale. All unattended children were also given an espresso and free puppy....
