Sender's Market's Weekly Ad & Grocery Specials Through April 7th

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/02/2020 11:00 AM
Mountain Ranch, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered.

Distance Learning for the Remainder of the 2019-20 School Year for all Calaveras Schools

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/01/2020 01:33 PM
Angels Camp – “Based upon the statements from Governor Newsom and the letter from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Thurmond on March 31, 2020, we are looking at the reality that school campuses will not be reopening for standard operations for the remainder of the school year. It is important to understand we are not “closing” schools, school buildings are closed. Educational and social-emotional opportunities and supports will be continue to be provided with the new distance learning models,” said County Superintendent of Schools Scott Nanik. The Calaveras County Office of Education and School Districts are here to help students and families navigate this path ahead. To be clear, the school year is not over, it has just transitioned from classroom instruction to distance learning.
