800 Pounds of Marijuana Seized in Mountain Ranch |

Mountain Ranch, CA...On November 15, 2023, at approximately 8:00 AM, deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located on the 400 block of Lakeview Drive in Mountain Ranch, California. This operation was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal marijuana cultivation in the county.

Mountain Ranch, CA…In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we’re still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Mountain Ranch, CA...John R. Fairchild December 9, 1944 ~ November 12, 2023 (age 78). John Raymond Fairchild, 78, passed away on November 12, 2023, in San Andreas, CA. John was born on December 09, 1944, in Fort Worth, TX to parents Earl and Jesse Fairchild. John was working as a Cavern Naturalist for California Caverns in Mountain Ranch, CA . A funeral service will be held at the California Caverns, 9565 Cave City Rd. in Mountain Ranch, CA on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. A private burial service will be held at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys, CA. at a later date.
