Posted by: thepinetree on 08/13/2013 11:13 AM
Vallecito, CA...The Calaveras County Taxpayers Association continues it's march on. Since its founding well before the Tea Party movement had even been thought of and continuing now with a Taxpayer Alert TV Program. Al Segalla and his merry band of tax vigilantes are present at seemingly every public meeting making sure the Constitution, Private Property Rights and Libertarian views are not swept under the rug of public process. Below is their first program with the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association's Jon Coupal. Additional information is enclosed and a few photos from their recent dinner catered by The Murphys Hotel at Moaning Caverns Park are below.

Cross Country Run to Find a Cure for Batten Disease

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/02/2013 02:30 PM
Vallecito, CA... Noah Coughlan is running for the cure for Batten Disease, a rare brain disease. He's running from San Francisco to Boston. Noah's personal connection to this disease is found in his past. Noah knows two sisters with the rare Batten Disease, one of whom passed within the past year. Several people with Batten Disease live in Utah where Noah expects to get some of the involved families on local TV stations to help heighten the awareness of this horrible and rare disease. He has already been on KTVU Channel 2 and interviewed by several hard copy newspapers. You may have seen him today on Hwy 4 heading up the hill. This story is unique and can be found on his website included inside with more pictures...

Twisted Folk Concert Series Presents The Deadly Gentlemen Friday August 2nd!

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/30/2013 10:24 AM
Vallecito, CA... Twisted Oak Winery is pleased to announce a return to bluegrass for our 2013 Twisted Folk Concert Series – but with a twist, because there is more than traditional bluegrass to The Deadly Gentlemen! “Sure, these guys play fiddles and mandolins and banjos,” said winery co-owner Jeff Stai. “But the Gents also bring a background in jazz, heavy metal, and… molecular biology to the party. Their music is both fast paced and melodic, but with an edginess they call ‘Epic Folk and Grasscore’ – this should be a fun night!”Where: Twisted Oak Winery, 4280 Red Hill Rd at Hwy 4, Vallecito. When: Friday, August 2nd, 2013 – 7:30pm. Gates open 6:30pm ...

Letter to CCWD Board ~ Letter to the Editor by Robert Watson

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/05/2013 06:13 PM
Vallecito, CA... I am a property owner in Vallecito (20 years) and have some comments re the increase in rates. Prior lawsuit. Prior boards loss $900,000 in a lawsuit (Mid 90's)that should have never gone to trial. The suing party had been on the Water Board. Shows that the Board has made bad decisions in the past and seems to continue to do so. Salaries: Most recent GM salary was around $200,000. Way out of line for the job. What justifies a salary at that level for a small water company...
