Lake Tahoe, CA) became the first-ever women’s Olympic halfpipe skiing champion Thursday, taking gold in the sport’s debut at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games. Bowman boosted to the top spot with her first run, and then extended her lead in a second round that saw Marie Martinod of France earn silver and Ayana Onozuka of Japan bronze. All four U.S. women advanced to the final and you can catch them all on NBC’s Primetime Olympic coverage at 8:00 p.m. EST Thursday or on NBCOlympics.com....

Robert Roseberry , 64 Loses Life in Snowmobile Accident and Major Injuries to Passenger

Bear Valley, CA...On February 15 at 1pm Robert Roseberry, 64 from Campbell, CA and Paulette Roseberry, 45 were riding their 2007 Ski-Doo snowmobile on a groomed snowmobile trail between Hwy 4 and School House Road southbound at an unknown speed in the snow. For an unknown reason the snowmobile left the groomed portion of the trail and collided with a tree...

Bear Valley, CA....Sky High Pizza was packed on Sunday afternoon as the vision for community ownership of Bear Valley Mountain Resort and Village was presented to the public. The Cooperative has been formed, goals have been set and a workable financial framework has been created. Now it is time to see if the Bear Valley community and the area at large agrees that this is the best plan for a stable and prosperous future. With Bear Valley Mountain Resort and Village on the market the community will be competing with other resort and development companies that are suitors for the properties....
