SNOW IN THE FORECAST....A change in the weather is forecasted with snow starting to fall Wednesday night and into Thursday. A second wave of weather will drop more snow starting on Friday. If you like fresh snow, this weekend is shaping up just for you. Safety tip for the day: Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely. Want a tip on where to ride? Ask a patroller, they'll love to give you the inside track on where the gettin' is good. Also, if you need any questions answered while around the lodge, seek out any staff member with a Bear Valley Mtn logo on their jacket and they'll be happy to help out. Bear Valley Cross-Country center is open with 31 trails for a total of 46 kilometers available, 27 trails with groomed track and skating lanes and 4 snowshoe only trails. The Meadow Cafe and Sledding Hill are open for business daily.

"Zones Tour" This Saturday! |

Bear Valley, CA....MAS & Bear Valley Ski Patrol found deep dry untracked powder in some closed areas adjacent to the ski resort and are excited to announce a “Zones Tour” this Saturday, January 31st. Due to the long and technical traverse this particular date is open to expert skiers only. But as more snow arrives snowboarders will be welcome. This weekends “Zones Tour” is guaranteed to offer the steepest and deepest powder on the hill.For more information visit the MAS website:

Bear Valley's J3 Racers Complete the first Junior Olympic Qualifier at Northstar~by Mike Comstock |

Bear Valley, CA....Our 7 J3 racers, kids ages 13 and 14 years old, put in a solid showing at the Northstar GS on Jan 24-26. Arriving on Friday evening to pouring rain, Bear Valley's 7 J3 racers took on the Far West J3 field this past weekend at Northstar's J3 Wild West GS Qualifier. Ben Gilbert, Colin Glenday, Patrick Cooke, Shelby White, Mackenzie Comstock, Kendyl and Jordyn Colonias along with Coach John Colonias were all hoping for the end to the rain. Saturday morning brought more rain but a very welcome change in weather saw the first day of competition under cloudy skies, sunny periods and even occasional light snow.....

Bear Valley, CA....It is Snowing now with 4 inches since closing yesterday, received a total of 11 inches of snow from this storm so far. Sunday's storm is predicted to be a colder & stronger system, every flake counts...

Bear Valley, CA...The snow levels have dropped enough that Bear Valley is now getting some good snow accumulation. We shot a short clip up near the bus lot this morning to show what has dropped so far. This Afternoon: Snow showers. High near 35. South southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
A face not even a mother could love!
