The Strider Gliders Are Back Again This Year! |

Bear Valley, CA....Come join the Strider Gliders! Your child (4-13) will join instructors from Bear Valley Cross Country ski area who will lead activities and provide instruction in striding, skating, destination skiing games on skis as well as other fun on snow activities. This all starts every Thursday from Jan. 27th to March 31st and the times are 3:30pm to 5pm. Program fee is $75 with or with out equipment. Please call the Cross Country Center at 209-753-2834.

Big Trees, CA...Volunteering at Calaveras Big Trees is a great way to help the park in these tough budget times, a great way to get outdoors, and a great way to help support the economy of Calaveras County. Calaveras Big Trees State Park Hosts New Docent Orientation Classes on (This training is mandatory for all new park volunteers.) Tuesday, March 8 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and Sunday, April 16 from 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.....

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A nice beautiful sunny day on the hill! The PNA(the Pacific North American pattern) is in full effect and most likely will keep California Dry for the next week or two. La Nina patterns are often highlighted by intense stormy periods with long breaks in between, Winter will be back! The Avalanche advisory is 1Low, check the forecast at sierraavalanchecenter.org for more on that and ride safe and responsible!!! Peace Out, Mattly

Hey Good People! A bit of cooling today and tomorrow with Highs in the upper 40′s and low’s in 20′s. The PNA(the Pacific North American pattern) is in full effect and most likely will keep California Dry for the next week or two. Bear Valley, CA....Hurry up and register! The first training clinics start this Saturday! If you are at least 50 years old, and can alpine ski, snowboard or cross country ski at an intermediate level or above, then you should be entering the winter games. If you can’t ski or snowboard, don’t worry, you should be entering the snowshoe competition. The winter games will be the event of the season and you don’t want to miss your chance to come out and enjoy the fresh air, great company and who knows, maybe even go home with a little bling!! ......
