Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People……….. A beautiful way to start the weekend! Sunny skies this morning giving way to a chance of snow later this afternoon. Winds will be out of the SSW to 6mph. Activity in the lower mountain is happening. Patrol has been assessing and doing control work and will continue with that again today….stay tuned. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People……….. A slight chance of flurries today but mostly cloudy skies with some sun occasionally showing itself. The high today will be 22F with a low of 14F tonight, winds will be out of the West northwest from 5-8mph. Bear Valley, CA...Ring in the new year in the cathedral lounge at Bear Valley Lodge! Grizzly Bar opens at noon and Creekside Dining room is now accepting reservations for New Years Eve dinner. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People……….. 7″ of new snow overnight and a total of 10″ for the current storm. 3-5″ more is expected today with winds out of the Southwest to 25mph…….The end of this week poses to bring another pulse of snow to the area so stay tuned for more on that. Arnold, CA...Active for next 11 hours! Location: West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Wintry weather in the mountains of Northern California continuing today. The winter storm that moved through northern California on Tuesday is now moving east of the region. Snow showers will continue however at the higher elevations. Chain controls already in place are likely to continue through the day over the Sierra. Check road conditions before traveling. For Road information call 800-427-7623 (Road).
Truckee, CA...Be extremely careful when skiing in the Sierras at this time. The Sierra Avalanche center has issued a warning and the latest storms have turned fatal twice already. A 49 year old Hirschdale man lost his live in an accident at Donner Ski Ranch yesterday and an 28 year ski patrol veteran was injured and later lost his life at Renown due to injuries sustained in an avalanche caused during avalanche control work.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People……….. 5″ of new snow overnight! The storm has slowed down and overnight totals are not quite like the forecast but today looks to ramp itself up a bit and bring a possible 10-14″ of new snow during the day. Another 1-2′ is expected to fall tonight and thru the day on Sunday. Winds will be out of the Southwest to 40mph. It’s the Christmas Holidays, so come on out, bring the Family and enjoy the snow!
