Hey Good People!!! The Snow Keeps Piling Up!!! Head On Up For Pure Mountain Fun! ~ Bear Valley Weather & Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/20/2016 11:04 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We picked up 5" of new snow at our study plot in the last 24hrs. Interestingly the town side picked up a bit more......orographic lift is all I have to say. A bag of warmer temps and mixed precipitation descended upon Bear Valley as the recent storm snow was a mixed bag. So with an 87" base at mid Mtn and 194" for the season total so far, things are much different than the last 3 years. Today's high should be right around 44F with winds out of the South from 3-7mph. Thursday looks to be even warmer by a few degrees before the next shot o' snow arrives Friday. We look to pick up another 8-18" by Saturday so it's a powder riding weekend my friends! Come on up and Enjoy the easiest drive to any resort on the west slope, All Weather Highway 4, always open, easy and fun! Don't forget about our "Pure Mtn Fun" attitude...

Best Places to Sled in Calaveras ~ CVB Feature

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/11/2016 07:53 PM
Angels Camp, CA...If you ventured out into the snow country over the past holiday season, you no doubt saw just how excited we humans were to see the white stuff after four years of scant snowfall. Highway turnouts were packed with vehicles, some chaining up the tires, others just parked for roadside snowmen and selfies, and the sledders were everywhere! It was fun to see, and sometimes a little scary with such proximity to a principal highway, so we thought a little guide to Calaveras’ better places to sled was in order for this month.   From roadside slopes to pay-to-play facilities with restrooms and sled rentals, we’ve rounded up a handful of options to help you have a safe and fun snow day next time you venture up.

Hey Good People!!! Bear Valley Weather & Update ~By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/10/2016 01:01 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People!!!! Lightly snowing at 5am with a trace on the ground and a 10% scattered snow showers forecast for the day with temps around 33F for the high and winds out of the East from 0-6mph becoming calm in the afternoon. The next 7 days looks to be unsettled snowy weather but the models are not lining up as we would like just yet. Pacific Coast ridging could keep the next weeks flow all over the place as far as snow and totals and even weather or not it will produce anything. We are 100% open on all aspects of the Mtn and conditions are exceptional for groomers and off-piste skiing and riding. All Hwy 4 is the easiest access to any resort on the west side of the Sierra so come check us out as we're sure you'll want to come experience our "Pure Mountain Fun". We are OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK!!!!!!!
