Clayton Rasmussen Retires From Bear Valley Mountain Resort

Bear Valley, CA...On Saturday evening the public was invited to honor Clayton Rasmussen at the Grizzly Lounge at the Bear Valley Lodge. Clayton is retiring from the ski area. He has been in on the Bear Valley Ski operation from the very beginning, working for his father Maury as Mt. Reba was founded in the 1960's. He says he and his wife Ginger, will devote most of their time to their vineyard near Angels Camp and help their sons with their cattle ranches.....

Bear Valley, CA...Join Us "Live" at 10am for the first public meeting and scoping session for the The Draft Environmental impact report for the New Village at Bear Valley. The meeting and scoping session on October 18th at 10am in The Bear Valley Lodge will be led by the Alpine County Planning Department. This document has been over two years in the making. The Village Draft EIR is different from the Forest Service EAR with will cover improvements to the Bear Valley Mountain Resort area. The Draft EIR will cover the New Village Development... Bear Valley, CA...Hwy 4 & 108 are still closed this morning because of snow. It is good to see the white stuff again! Is it time to wax the sticks & breakout the 80's stretch pants. Winter is on it's way. Chains are still required from Bear Valley to Mt. Reba Summit. (R1) Update...Chains are no longer required.

Murphys, CA...Best of Shows? The 2008 Ironstone Concours d'Elegance is in the books and it was a fabulous event again this year. Tom and Julie Williams and their beautiful 1931 Pierce-Arrow, took Home “Best of Show” honors. When we spoke with Ironstone's Gail Kautz she mentioned that this year's Concours may have been their best ever. They had to start turning away entrants once they passed 350...
