It Was a Pondskimming FUN for the Entire Family in Bear Valley on Saturday.. With Video! By John Hamilton

Bear Valley, CA...Over 80 participants Skimmed, Boated, Splashed, Cartwheeled, Flopped, Super Heroes and more across the skimming pond that BVMR set up their late season party this year. The first entrants across the pond were BVRM GM Jim Gentling and CEO Martin Wegenstein. They both raced across the pond with nary a drop reaching their clothes. A great deal of the other entrants spent a bit more time splashing in the just above freezing water. It was a costumed parade of skiers and boarders that ran the gauntlet to test their skimming skills. "Bill & Hillary", Bikini Clad Women, various cartoon characters...

CHP Report in For Snowmobile Vs. Tree Collision Yesterday

Bear Valley, CA...CHP reported a snowmobile vs. tree Collision on Wednesday at Hwy 4 and Bear Valley Road. (Update#1) There were major injuries involved in this crash. The injured party was Mediflighted to Sutter Roseville Hospital. Suspicion of DUI while operating the snowmobile was involved. The full CHP accident release is enclosed...

Bear Valley, CA....Bear Valley Cross Country played host again this year to"Tom's Classic Cross Country Ski Race" on Saturday, April 5th. This is a very popular and fun filled day! This race is a 10K Classic Only (no ski skating) cross country ski race. Everyone seemed to enjoy the great spring skiing conditions by attending this fun race, which was open to all ages and abilities. We have the results enclosed....

Bear Valley, CA....1 inch of snowfall fell overnight as yesterday's storm system left the area making skiing and riding perfect. Today will bring the first day of clear weather as a strong high pressure ridge will build bringing beautiful warm California spring temperatures for next several days. Angels Camp, CA...The City of Angels hosted a presentation on Retail Economic Development to a packed house on Tuesday afternoon at the Angels Camp Fire House. The meeting lasted about two hours. Amy Wetzel with the Buxton Company made a presentation onvarious economic development strategies, ranging from small retailers to more traditional approaches with national chains. The Buxton Company is one of the largest retail placement and location scouting companies in the nation. They help companies pick locations and they also help communities and locations attract retailers.
