Bear Valley Snow Report for January 2nd, 2009

Bear Valley, CA...There are currently no chain controls at this hour. Over 2' of new snow has fallen on us for the holidays and the skiing/riding is incredible! Our first snowcat skiing tour happened Dec 27th and was a huge hit. Contact us or see our website for more info. The lower Mtn opened Monday 29th with plenty of fresh pow and lot's of people having an awesome time. Also, check with M.A.S for info on our "Zones Ski Tour" . Come rip it up with us on an incredible "out of bounds powder tour". Happy Holidays to all and we'll see you on the slopes.

Valley Springs, CA...(Update...Pat Ross recently emailed us to say they have had increased interest in this information so we thought we would top post it again to give those who missed it the first time the opportunity to watch the presentation again.) We had the pleasure to stop by when Calaveras County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Unit's Pat Ross did a property survey and made recommendations to one of our local families. Pat did a wonderful job going over all of the high points in securing your home. She covers everything from Windows, Doors, Outside Areas, Lighting, Locks and even simple things you can do to make your home or business less of a target. Bear Valley, CA...Over 2' of new snow has fallen on us for the holidays and the skiing/riding is incredible! Our first snowcat skiing tour happened Dec 27th and was a huge hit. Bear Valley, CA...The local sports programs that have spawned Olympic, World Cup, X-Games, National Championship, Junior Olympic, National and International competitors are deep into their winter training camps as they tune up for the 2008/2009 season. The Bear Valley Race team already has a win and podium finishes in some of the early season races. Age ranges on these teams are from young first graders all the way to high school age. They are next generation competitors from skiing dynasties like the Rasmussen family and children of Olympic Gold Medalists in other sports mixed with the fresh dreams of many others striving to make their mark in the athletic world. The kids may be young but this is serious stuff...

CHP is advising that there are R1 Chain Requirements this morning from Big Trees on up the mountain. Have a great snow day! Bear Valley has received over 2' of new snow on us for the holidays and the skiing/riding is incredible! More terrain is opening and the lower mtn. isn't too far off. Happy Holidays to all and we'll see you on the slopes! UPDATE: Chains required from Cottage Springs on up. UPDATE 2PM: No Chain requirements at this time.
