Hey Good People!!! The "Pure Mountain Fun" Just Keeps Falling!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/24/2017 12:40 PM
Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People! 58" in the last week and well riding is exceptional with the continued cold temps on the backside of the recent storm system. Continued upper level low pressure will be in effect through the weekend and into Tuesday so expect snow showers to continue until that time. Today the high comes in around 25F with mostly sunny skies and East winds from 5-10mph. The second pulse of this low pressure system will arrive Sunday and drop snow levels down to a possible 1-2000' and 2-4" is expected for that system with snow ratios of 15:1 which equals super light density snowfall and we all know what that means.......Someone's been talking to Ullr............ Come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/21/2017 10:22 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Delays are in effect for the Cub and Super Cub chairs as rimming has frozen things. The backside-Polar Express and Pooh Chairs are offline today as well as the Lower Mtn-Grizz Chair. The Kuma should open by 9:15am or so so please "Bear" with us as we recover today and look for the backside and the lower Mtn to come back online tomorrow with some delays due to Avalanche Control. This year has been epic from an operational standpoint which is pretty much the standard for all resorts in the Nor Cal/Central Cal areas.

Hey Good People!!! The "Pure Mountain Fun" Keeps Coming!!

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/20/2017 09:37 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Expect possible delays with Mtn Operations today's with increasing winds and snowfall 7" of new snow as of 5am this morning overnight and 10" in the last 24hrs. A mix of rain /snow is expected through the day today as the warm air aloft arrives with a projected snow elevation level of 7000'. 1-3" of snow is possible today with a 50/50 chance that it could go either way today being full rain or snow., we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out over the next few hours. The expected high is suggested to be 36F and falling to 28F by 3pm or so. Winds will be out of the South from 18-23mph with gusts to 34mph. Tonight will continue with a mix of rain and snow as the temp will again rise to around 38F during the early morning of Tuesday coupled with high winds in the 40-48mph range with gusts to 75mph and continuing out of the South. Tuesday could drop another 7-11" of new snow as the temps fluctuate and winds will again be out of the South from 31-36mph with gusts to 55mph. The Lower Mtn will be on hold today due to the higher elevation snow levels as concerns there are Avalanche related. It's been a handful of years since we've seen these type of events so expect some possible delays with operations in and around the resort over the next 4-5 days. Someone's been talking to Ullr............ Come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........
