Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People!. 7am weather update. 20″ of new snow overnight! 3-7″ expected today with WSW winds from 7-9mph. 3-5″ expected tonight. CalTrans has done an incredible job keeping Hwy 4 open and clear and the easiest access on the Western slope despite the storm intensity. As with any Resort in Central/NorCal during this storm, we’re all working hard with snow removal, Mtn Operations and more. More terrain is slated to open over the weekend so stay tuned for that info and please remember, some closures may be in effect due to high winds and heavy snowfall. Remember, we’re about “Pure Mtn Fun” so come check us out this Winter !!!!! stay tuned.....

Avery, CA...Vallecito Union School District Schools on Two Hour Snow Delay. Today, March 2nd is a two hour late start. All schools and bus routes will start two hours late today. Hazel Fischer / Michelson = 10 am - 2 pm. Avery Middle School = 10:45 am - 3 pm

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County students in fourth through twelfth grades will showcase their scientific experiments and demonstrations at the 33nd Annual Calaveras County Science Fair on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Calaveras River Academy/Mountain Oaks School gymnasium at 150 Old Oak Road, San Andreas. The Science Fair is funded in part by a grant from the Teichert Foundation. The public is invited to explore Science Fair projects from 9-9:45am and the demonstration area throughout the morning.

Arnold, CA...Regarding the snowfall of the current storm in District 3 along Highway 4, preliminary reports indicated that over a period of 2 to 3 days, 3 to 5 feet of snow is expected with 7 feet in some areas. This necessitated opening the Emergency Operating Center at Station One and that the OES Director Michelle is working with the fire chief to ensure all disaster preparedness plans are at the ready and coordination with all departments so that emergency personnel will have resources ready and able to assist with the severe storm problems.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People!. 32″ of new snow in the last 36hrs and 15″ of new overnight!!!!! Today the high will be around 21F with SW winds from 10-20mph with some gusts up to the low 30’s possibly. 10-14″ of new is possible today with another 6-10″ tonight and 2-4″ for Saturday. Winds have backed off a bit as the gradient loosens up and today we’ll see the storm intensity slow down with a return later this evening as the storm has it’s final push. CalTrans has done an incredible job keeping Hwy 4 open and clear and the easiest access on the Western slope despite the storm intensity.
